Why is your pancreas so important to your health and the signs it is in trouble?

The pancreas is a very important digestive organ that is poorly understood. Its task is also to produces enzymes and hormones like insulin and glucagon which are vital to good health. There are a few warning signs that your pancreas is not happy and you might want to speak with your doctor.

Constant Abdominal Pain.   With our modern lifestyle with us over eating and eating the wrong foods sometimes we ignore the signs. If you have regular abdominal stinging pain after you eat that starts in the middle of your abdominal and then works towards your back, try lying down on your back.  If it feels worse it may be triggered by pancreas problems.

Your Stool Can Tell A Lot About Your Health.  If your stool is steadily pale, oily and less dense, this could be indicating that the food hasn’t been completely broken down and digested. A healthy pancreas feeds key enzymes into your intestines to aid digestion.

Nausea After Eating.  If your pancreas is not working right it might not be producing enough fat-digesting enzymes. If you feel like throwing up or nauseous after one of those fatty meals of pizza, burgers, or red meat, this might is the problem.

Diabetes.  If our pancreas is in trouble, our blood is in trouble too.  A healthy pancreas releases insulin into our blood so sugar is completely digested. If this is not happening it could lead to a life sentence of insulin injections. Enough said!

Of course, there are many other signs that your pancreas is having a hard time and in no way is this medical advice, but if you see these signs you might want to have a chat with your doctor.
